I recently bought a 95 tsi and the previous owner removed what he called "a check valve" in the clutch line right before the slave cylinder. I have never heard of a mod like this and when attempting to bleed the clutch i would lose all pressure and the pedal would drop to the floor. I tried picking it back up and re-bleeding but still cannot get the clutch to fully disengage when at the floor. Has anybody heard of this free-mod? any suggestions greatly appreciated! thanks!

thanks Defiant, i think your right with adjusting the pushrod because after a close look at the push rod i found that at fully engaged (pedal all the way out) half of the rod is discolored which im guessing is the area that should be tightened back into the master-cylinder. I will give this a try and post back asap

Sometimes it takes a lot of pumping and bleeding before the pedal starts to come up. Also, try pushing the clutch fork towards the slave cylinder while cracking the bleeder.

good luck,
archie
