Am very broke in college, got a 93 gs w the 1.8 4g37 na took out a loan for it and to many bills to count getting another car is sorta not an option. throwin 4 codes ,13, 15 , 21, 23 but heard first one is most likley and thats IAC "idle air control valve" car dont like to start and idles rough till warm. body is in great shape interior perfect bought it with 93,000 miles 5 spd manual. sorta fell inlove with dsm's now i wanna turn my 1600 dollar gs into a a OK sleeper not a monster but respectable. just found out i have a head gasket leak too. not worried about swapping a motor but i cant be with out car for to long ,work . so i was wondering after all that crap i just made you read... is there an engine that will "with out to much modification" and possibly even being able to keep my transmission for just a little while ofcourse i will upgrade clutch but. the problem is i sorta either have to pay someone to replace my head gasket which i hear is almost more of a hassle to do the head gasket than swap motors plus then. i would have a chance to do the cluch to but what engine if any would do this trying to stay away from replacing wiring harness kinda jsut tryin to do a swap right now dont got heat in my garage. car will run for a while but i gotta do something eventualy waiting on income tax return to get started LOL. wow i hope that wasnt to long... my bad :)

An engine swap WILL keep you without a car for a while. Just fix this car and wait till after college. I did an engine swap and I was without a car for a while just 'because'.

well with the iac valve am pretty sure i read the codes right sat there for a long time watching the pattern :( LOL. what sucks was no mechanic in my area could scan it since its ob1. but for the oil leak cleaned real good around head with degreaser and whole box o rags origionaly thought it was cam valve half plug but could see it seeping from front passenger corner of head gasket. i think it started because getting pre ignition from the IAC it acts crazy when it first starts ilde is very irratic enginge shook violently a few times for a little bit should have shut it off but wanted to see if it would go away. engine bairly putes at 400+ rpm sometimes until warm i assume because the pitle in the IAC is lazy especialy when cold. but i can get iac for 219 but have no idea about the engine swap dont really wanna put another 1.8 back in it . looking for something turboable? that will swap probly not possible but not sure what to do with that yet but i was goin to get the stuff this engine wont come with if it fits before i get it so i can just swap parts form engine to engine then drop it so i can bust it out fast.

dudes arent shady just good old boys. said 375 labor found full rebuild kit for 110 but havent found any remanufactured or new head cylinders if mines warped .. GOD i hope its not warped LOL. thanks for the replys...
