Help! Again...

Okay i've posted on here with a few problems in the past few days. I havent gotten anywhere. Rough idle, Stumbles when not on boost, surging idle, smells so bad like burning gas it makes your eyes water. I unplug the maf and it idles smooth and stops missing. unless I free rev it. in which case it gets to about 3k and sounds like it hits rev limiter.. under a load with the maf off it does fine up through 6k rpm but when i let off the throttle. it wont respond until the rpms drop to 2k.. plug the maf back in and it starts to idle rough and miss again.. faulty maf or? i also just did a head gasket on the car not even a week ago if this helps. ran completely fine before.

Did you do a proper boost leak test after your head gasket job?

Did you remove the CAS when you removed the head, or simply unplug the sensor?
Ensure all your vacuum lines are attatched correctly to and from the intake manifold.



If the car was running fine before you took everything apart, chances are you might of missed something putting it back together. Take a look back at every sensor, coupler, lines, etc. that you touched or unplugged and verify you didnt forget anything.

Well when I did the headgasket i ended up having to swap heads anyways. so I had to remove the CAS. I cant find any more vacuum lines to hook up or any spots where there might be a leak. There are a few square looking sensors unplugged all along the harness that werent plugged in before. i can't find anywhere where they might go either.(car was traded for a blown up pickup because i just needed something to drive and it ran.)

Have you done a Boost Leak Test? ( You can't see the leaks unless your vacuum lines are not connected.)
Take some pictures it might help to diagnose.

1) Your thread title is horrible. Use a DESCRIPTIVE THREAD TITLE as required by our site's posting policy.

2) Never put the word "HELP" in your title if you want people to actually help you. I literally scan right over threads with "help" in the title, and I'm sure there are others who may be able to offer advice who do the same thing.

3) Don't start two threads on the exact same topic just a few days apart whether you resolved the problem or not. Post in the old thread- add new information....things you've tried, what did and didn't work. Nobody here's going to come and fix your car for you; you must be willing to use the advice you're given.
