I just spent every penny I had rebuilding my motor and spun a bearing
I pulled everything, measured everything again, cleaned EVERYTHING again and replaced the bearings. Right after starting it I noticed a metal on metal slapping noise, I pulled the head (doh, there goes a 4 layer steel gasket) and sure enough the piston is slapping against the head. I'm being told I need to have my crank ($80) and rods ($48) machined. I don't have enough time to work on the car right now because of work, and I need the car for work!!! I'm being quoted appx. $800 for labor alone to pull the crank and re-install everything.
Any advice welcome!
