help! 2g missing up top?

Ok guys my 2g tsi is starting to miss when it hits about 4-5k. Don't know what it is, but it will hit around 15 pounds or so and start to stutter. Im thinkin i might need new plug wires. I just changed to plugs and didn't do a thing.

What are your AFR's whenh it starts to break up? I had a similar issue recently and i was just too rich. Leaned it out to 11.5:1 - 12:1 areas and it pulls fine.

Also, what are your plugs gapped at? Try .025 then .020 if the first step down doesnt' cure it.

I had an issue with wires for a long time, I would go through a set of ACCELL wires every couple of days. Then I bought a set of so called "junk" magnecores and they've been great to me for over 8 years now!!!

The accell wires were OK, but after a few days they would start missing and breaking up.. everytime i put new wires on and it went away.. I got sick of buying set after set and just forked out the loot on magnecore wires

Did you gap the plugs? Try them at .024 or even .020 first and see if that fixes it.

I had a problem similar to what your describing here with my 96 TSI. I replaced the plugs and wires but it turned out to be the wires that were the problem so I would say try that.
