Nothing you said is true. The only thing true is hellaflush guys prove that they can waste money. Just because you spend thousands on rims doesn't mean you are hardcore, it means you spent a lot of money on something that more times than not is useless and dangerous.

I know a ton of hellaflush guys too with great paint jobs and stretched tires. Sure their hardcore alright, , especially when they can't even tell you the last time they changed their oil, because they need to do everything to save their money for new tires.

Im not disagreeing that some of what you see is dangerous. But stretched tires are not all bad. MY uncle has some stretch and poke on his gti. Rides smoother than any car ive driven.

But youll never see a hellaflush dsm because no one will spend money on a dsm like those hardcore VW and BMW and i guess now suby guys. Which was just stated why 2 posts up.

Anyone who spends stupid money on a stupid and dangerous fad rather than just getting proper rims, tires and camber kits or someone who can't figure out why not to buy CX Racing rods and doesn't seem to know where to find the specs on Eagle rods, all idiots.

You can have a nice dish without massive camber problems and tires liable to blow up at any moment. This isn't about people not liking good looks or being close minded to them, it's about people pointing out that it's just stupid to do it that way.

To some stupid. But i think we are arguing about two different levels or hellaflush. I dont people with 10 degrees of neg camber is safe. 2-3 neg camber, super low, good rims and some stretch is clean as fawk. Like i said, stretched isnt bad. Its the severity that makes it bad. All stretch is bad, because it is putting stress on the bead that the tire wasn't designed for. You may have a little stretch and go forever with no issues, most people probably will. The level of severity of the problem varies with the level of severity of the stretch yes, but the moment stretch happens you are just inching closer and closer to failure.

I believe there is a certain amount of stretch that the tires are designed for, probably something like trying to put a 225 on a 8" wide rim rather than a proper 235, but 205s on an 8" wide? No thanks.

I appreciate good looks, but this isn't it. It's some type of weird imitation, and it's not flattering. BMWs look awful "hellaflush". My buddy's M3 looked so much better with the original 17" forged wheels with 245 or 255s than it does now lowered with 18s and 225s all around. It lost 100% of it's aggresiveness.

Riding on bumpstops doesn't seem to enjoyable either.

These people who are hardcore put more money into rims and tires than what id say 50 percent of everyone posted in here spend on aftermarket parts for their car. That is dangerous and asking for trouble. The sidewalls, beads and tread were not designed to run in that position. That is out of spec from any manufacturer and puts excessive load and stress on the tire. The friction would most likely cause excessive heat and sidewall failure. It cause a blowout, an accident and injury or death to other drivers. The hell with the R I C E R driving it, it's the other people that would be dragged into the accident.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing. Obviously being from where this all originated I see a lot of nice examples and a lot of "WTF" ones as well... To each their own. I say let people do what they want...

To the ignorant tards.. Its not a Honda fad.. We started doing this on high end luxury cars before anything else and it is just now trickling to Hondas.. A lot of the Evos/STis run similar setups etc etc... When you goto the events a majority of the cars do look nice and are higher end import/Euro vehicles most that the people talking sh*t couldn't afford let alone the rims on them.

I wouldn't call it a fad either since cars have been around like that for a decade, but say what ya want about it, its not going anywhere. I don't like the uber camber cars that we even call "Hellafail" but quality and authentic wheels with proper suspension and great stance is hot. Period. And that is coming from a person who has spent as much if not, and most likely, more on "performance mods" than anyone else in this thread. There has to be a point where people understand that its not all about what turbo you are running.. We got a bad rep for having quick but unreliable and sh*tty looking cars... People are far too close minded around here.

It seems to be the latest fad. Much like steam rolling was in the early nineties. From what I've seen it originated from the German cars and has spread. I saw a VW GTI with an hx-40 on it making great numbers, but was a total waist of HP because he had those stupid stretched tires on it. A stock DSM could have smoked him because his hard a$$ stretched tires just spun. But he thought he looked cool bouncing the RPMS off the revlimiter when he spun tires. This look is not for me.

There is no way in hell that can be safe.Hating or not i couldnt take my dsm and put tires on it that could let loose and send me flying into something let alone do that to a high end car. A car can look nice without I hope this goes out like mullets and flannel.

And to the one previous post saying that he doesnt care for hardly most DSMs because we throw a bunch of junk together in our garages.

My response to that is DSMs and Hondas are historically the cheapest bang for buck sports car. When you drop 30k on a Evo usually you have the other 20k to spend on mods that make it look pretty. When you spend 2k on a DSM what kinda person do you think is buying it to go fast? Some broke ass like myself putting himself through school. If you want to be in a community where you like all the cars maybe you should go to one where there all up to your standards.

Our DSMs might not be the cleanest or hellaflush or the sickest but most people that own them know how to work on them and are mechanically sound because if they dont hold up kids complain say there junk and sell them an get a 17sec single cam civic . One thing we have going for us as a community is the rice is hard to find and just about all of us pride ourselves with being to pull up to a redlight an toast a vette, stang, what ever. Clean or not who cares, theres nothing wrong with a sleeper

The point isn't that they couldn't afford the tires, the point is is that their rims are worth more than your bucket you blow your money on to keep runnign every day. That was the ONLY point I was making. Adding tires to the package just makes it worse..

Again, I agree when it is over done, it looks like crap, just like anything would be. But to say the whole movement looks like trash is simple minded and ignorant. I've even personally built cars that I purposed for road track use that I lowered beyond the ideal level I would race with that had $10K worth of suspension mods ALONE with at the time $1600 worth of rubber on the car. I'd be more than humorous to hear someone tell me "It looks like you couldn't afford to buy tires" and my favorite "You are ruining the handling".. Bah! Even though raced roughly 2" higher I'd love to see them keep up with the car 1" off the ground.


Sorry if lose wheels on those HellaFlush Evos and stance isn't to your liking but they still have a better/nicer car than you, still would get more attention than you and STILL would out handle you in every direction.
