I am looking for the part # and manufacture of heim joints for the steering rack end. I am looking to tighten up the steering as well as start to deal with the auto pilot feeling that I have from installing the EVO VIII wheels. Thank you and let me know if you have any other ideas.

Check post 83, aaronmatusz seems to have found a set that work, maybe you could PM him for any addt'l info. You have to type in AWF-M14 to find the info on the site he linked.

I used a different setup entirely but his seems simpler/cleaner.

Tough to say what is causing the "autopilot" feeling you describe, my car being excessively lowered needed bump-steer correction. Bump steer does display a bit of an autopilot effect, to be sure but, just swapping wheels alone shouldn't cause that.

Wider tires will sometimes "follow" linear road irregularities a bit more than narrow ones, is that what you are experiencing?

I'm experiencing this now with my set-up. Caught me off guard the first few times it did it. Guess it's something that you just learn to live with.

can you locate the part # your ordered? This link is dead, I have some info out in the trailer I will see if it has the parts. If it does, I will post the info for the rest of you guys. Thank you

The link just goes to a generic Aurora page, you have to cut & paste the p.n. I referenced in my post, at least it worked for me today, doing this.

The parts I used are in McMaster Carr but they required machining/welding to install. McMaster-Carr I don't recall the exact p.n. I used but they were male, 5/8" PTFE lined, shortened, threaded in and welded to a 14mm threaded sleeve.

Or just get in on this:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/han...g-interest-1g-bump-steer-correction-kits.html

This may have just become easier for us...

Maximum Motorsports, aka one of the two premier suspension companies for mustangs, makes a bump steer kit, for mustangs. As seen here: http://www.maximummotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=514_2_348&products_id=451

What's interesting is that A) 94-04 mustangs use M14 x 1.5mm metric threads on their tie rods.

What's also interesting, is that they offer a tapered style shaft. I wouldn't assume that this is the correct taper, but I would assume that if we could define the taper, we might be able to convince them to make some especially for us, and have a 200$ solution to the problem, that adds an additional benefit of being adjustable. This could help quite a bit for those looking for every last bit of grip.

My last concern is the length of the threaded shaft. I don't know the length of the stock outer tie rods, so if anyone has that handy, I'd appreciate it.

If someone could define that taper (degree and starting diameter) I can ask the company about making a run of studs for us.
