In the Talon that I recently picked up I noticed from the very beginning that the clutch is nowhere near stock. I've had a 2100 before and this is about 2X-3X heavier. I dropped the Release fork boot and while the PP looks brand new, I can tell it's an ACT...likely a 2600?

Anyway, to my issue. The clutch seems like it's dragging. I can get all gears, but 3rd chirps and Rev grinds. I can press the pedal to the floor and slam the shifter into Reverse and it'll go, but when I let off the brake the car starts trying to roll backwards like I'm off the clutch slightly. I know this is obviously a sign that the clutch is not fully disengaged.

I have bled the Slave, adjusted the stopper for the pedal, and adjusted the Master Cylinder rod according to Jacks' tutorial. I am NOT disengaging completely. I really hate to think that the Release fork is bent, but when I look under the car it's centered like we preach to people to make sure it is. =/ It's not off to the passenger side or anything.

I've never dealt with a clutch this heavy. There's no play in the pedal assembly, but it takes about a quarter inch while pressing the clutch pedal for the rod to push in enough on the master cyl for it to start tightening up.

Any ideas?

tough call could just need adjusted. could be bent fork worn pivot ball also the flywheel step height could be wrong.
on my 97 when i went to the 2600 i replaced pivot ball fork master and slave and made sure the guys machining my flywheel did it to act s specs.

if your at the point that you feel adjusting is doing nothing and you have bleed it thoroughly time to dig into it.

Mmmm. I hate dropping these transmissions.

I assume I can locate the spec of the flywheel on ACT's site? It's an aftermarket flywheel, that much I can be sure of.

If you free rev it up in gear to 5-6k Rpm with the car in gear an clutch in. does the car creap forward?
