heating problem!!

is this right when i open the coolant resovior tank i see white smoke coming out. also when i step on the gas white or black smoke comes out the exhaust.

yea the car does run hot at idle and the radiator fan does not turn on for some reason.

When my car is warm and ideling the needle on the stock gauge is almost all they way down...always has been that way.

oh, so the oil gauge is okay. how about my heating problem? whats causing it to smoke inside the coolant resoivor tank

This is a very easy problem to fix. first of all you need to go to your local parts store and get a new thermostat, yours is stuck open. they are anywhere from 13-30 bucks. make sure to pick up at least 1-2 galoons of antifeeze and do a 50/50 mix with water. get a pan to drain all of the coolant out of your radiator. if you are looking at the front of your car the drain plug is on the bottom right side. wait for the coolant to drain out and then change your thermostat. it
is located closest to the engine on the upper tube from the radiator. simply pop off the tube. pull out the bad thermo and replace it. note: there is no gasket required. depending on the brand of thermostat they will give you a gasket and leave you wondering why it wont fit no matter what you try. do yourself a favor, throw it away. when everything is reattached add 1.5 gallons of premixed coolant. start the car for about 10 minutes and watch the temp guage. if it is a little high and more coolant.

yep, then you would not have received an answer to your question. bumping is against the rules, doesn't matter if 500 people viewed it and none responded, don't bump it or it will get locked.
