Quick question the talon I got is missing the heat shield from the exhaust manifold. Found a guy on on Craig's list that has that and an upper cam gear cover but he says its only one piece. So?

For the heat shield you can probably get away without even having one especially if you still have the heat barrier material on the underside of the hood. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to put the manifold heat shield on. The other piece goes over the hot side of the turbo and O2 housing, you'll be okay without it. I guess I don't understand what your concern is with the upper timing belt cover, if you need one, buy it.

if you dont have a timing belt cover get one. there is no need for it to be exposed like that.

as for the heat sheilds you need both. the lower one is extremely important as it keeps heat from your alternator, there for prolonging its life. the upper shield is also a really good idea, especially if you want to check your oil after a drive. this shield also protects the power steering pump from getting to much heat and finally to keep the heat off of the intercooler piping, if you are running a front mount.

Agree, run heat shields, even if it's heat wrap. An unshielded manifold will crank up the IATs (less power) and shorten the life of just about everything under the hood.

Yea I will put them back on I just wanted to make sure that what I saw on ebay was correct, I want to run the cam cover because I have gravel and dirt roads around me so I dont want to risk something happening to the motor once I get it back together. I may just wait until I can see the classifieds and buy the stuff there.
