Its take forever for my car to blow out hot air thru the vents, what is the cause of this?

Your thermostat is not closing properly. Replace.

Cheesy crap, I wish they'd build them to last.
That damned thing has cost you seven ten-thousandths of a cent per mile. What a ripoff.

Just had the same problem since it got cold out. Would not blow any heat out when driving. The only time I got heat was at a stop. I bought a new thermostat and radiator cap and replaced them both. Good thing I did too because my thermostat was in three pieces the top, the spring assemply and the part on the bottom completely broke off on bothe sides allowing the thermostat to come apart. It was in pieces in my thermostat housing. I am lucky it didn't suck into the cooling system or completely block the cooling passage. Slowly I am working out all the issues from the previous owner.

Moral of the story, don't screw around. It's only a $6 item and 1) You'll get heat back and 2) It could save you from damaging your engine, as in my case, if your thermostat disintegrated itself.
