I will be replacing my headgasket because my compression is 150 150 150 90 and I'm getting a little oil coolant mix. Does anyone know what the stock headgasket thickness is? I was wanting to go a little thinner to move compression to 8.5-8.8:1 from 7.8:1. I'm wanting to use a Cometic gasket as well as arp head studs and get a set of 264/272 cams.
I know that for every .006" change in gasket thickness adds or subtracts approx .1 points of compression. What do you guys think about running a thinner gasket for more compression?

I dont' think you could safely raise compression from 7.8 to 8.8. I wouldn't go to thin on the HG either. You could just raise the boost more to get your compression :thumb:

hig compression would give me a faster spool up and better off boost power. I'd like to at least go to 8.4-8.5:1 if it's safely possible. If not I still need to know the stock thickness because I really don't want something thicker that will drop compression more.

The only way is to replace the pistons that have that compresion ratio built in them.
