you got a tsi, you don't use header, you use exhaust manifold, and exahust manifld isn't the part of the exhaust system where you can pick up most hp.

I've seen some that claim 12hp but I think it's too good to be true. I was told I would have alot of trouble installing the header because the exhaust gets so hot that the bolts get stuck pretty good, an that I'd probably need a torch to loosen them up. Is this true?

soak the bolts in penetrating oil a day before and let them sit for a while. Get an impact gun if you can, some buddies for moral support and be patient.

This isn't in response to anyone else...if it says it is..but i got my OBX 4-1 headers in yesterday and installed them....at first my friend didn't have a bolt tightened...so i drove home sounding like a motorcycle...this morning i tightened the bolt..everything sounds good...just the headers are now gold...is that a normal process? they're stainless steel if it helps..thanks alot

ya i got the same header, from ssautochrome right? Installation went by quick after i soaked the bolts with pb blaster (liquid wrench, whatever u wanna call it) Improvment felt throughout the rpm range but especially after 3000, mine turned goldish then goldish purple..ive been to alot of auto shows and this seems to be the norm for chrome (or polished) headers (header for a 4 cyln)

-hot sauce

The color change is just due to the extreme heat, it's normal. I had no trouble with the studs on my header, they came right off, no PB blast or anything. I don't know if i'd use and impact gun on them, seems like man-handling them would put you in a position to have to remove broken header studs from the head..

The bolts on mine were fairly easy to get the stock header off of the block..the only hard thing was getting the bolts loose from the pipe connecting to the stock cat....it took about an hr of me my friend, and his dad individually trying..eventually me and my friend got a cheater pipe...he got on one side and pulled while i pushed from the other...and FINALLY they came loose...i get to deal with that again this week when i install my high flow cat...made by OBX as well..has anyone used an OBX one?? if so..how's it handling??
