Hmmm well guys here is how the story goes, resently started the rebuild, of course its a 2.3 stroker, all the goods, spent about 2000. and well im at work and deside to start porting my head. Wow is the intake side so beautiful. But well i was doin the exhaust side and was thinking it should be about as big as the intake hahaha. Well as i started to look i noticed i have about 3/16 to 1/4 inch of flange for my gasket to sit on, i havent got a gasket to line up yet haha but i am sure that i will know the verdict b4 long. has ne one else done this haha i am a dumb ass
 
Bigger is not always better.You should spend most of your time on the bowl area and short turn radius.Just clean up the core shift and polish out to the gasket area.Going to big you lose velocity on the exhaust side.If you had access to a flow bench you get your intake to flow as much as possible for what ever head you use.Then you want your exhaust to flow right about 62% of the intake #s.This is for turbo engines,N A engjnes use different ratios.Without a flow bench you should just clean up and polish.
 
Not sure where you work but porting a head is very difficult with very little room for error. If you don't have a flow bench you will probably lose HP. It is always worth it to spend the money on a proven head or turn up the BOOST. :thumb:
