So tonight, i felt ambitious and completely disassembled my 4g63 cylinder head. I will actually be using the pictures i took tonight for a writeup in the future. There are no good writeups from what ive searched for about how to tear down the head. And go through what is involved before you should take it to a machine shop.

So, the only thing i noticed wrong with my head besides the enormous amounts of casting flash and dirt was i have one cracked/split valve seat. Its not the valve seat but the round part that holds the guide that the seat goes around. Its not cracked through but close. When i take it to the machine shop, ill have him inspect it let me know what he thinks.

So, what i think im going to do if it is good, is have him resurface the head, do a 5 angle valve cut, and inspect and pressure test the head.

Here is the list of what will be going into the head:

Ferrea 6000 Valves swirl polished
Kiggly HLA
Supertech Valve stem seals
NOT SURE WHICH SPRINGS YET
Delta K272 Cams
3g Lifters which i have already

I will also be "porting" the head myself. I basically will just smooth out everything. Remove the ridges in the exhaust, remove the casting flash in the intake and exhaust, and smooth out the lines. No real porting will be needed for this motor. :thumb: :sneaky:

Pics and writeup soon to come. ;)

Thanks. Itll be up shortly. I took them on my uncles camera, so i keep forgetting to transfer them to my phone to take home

UPDATE.

Bought my valves, stem seals, full 2g AC system, JMF Race IM, and decided on Kiggly S+R's.
