Head swap

Ok well I'm going to attempt to swap the head on my car from the 1g that's on there back to a 2g. I have never done this before so I'm trying to get a sense how how difficult this is going to be. I think the hardest part for me is going to be setting the timing belt back on. So I wanted to see If there is any advice you guys could give. I have taken one off before just never put it back on. There is a reason that I'm switching them back cause the 1g head is not working correctly and has no compression in cyclinder 3.

Make shure your rings are still good on that cylinder number.

The swap isn't too hard at all. But as Dented stated, make sure that your rings are good.

Is there a reason why the head isn't holding compression? Bent valves? Did it just randomly occur one day?

As stated, more info on why you believe its the heads fault?

As far as putting things on, just take your time, make sure to have things labeled and organized... Timing belt isn't that hard, especially with all the info on this site on how to do one but its always nice to have help

It's not too hard just make sure you replace the head gasket and studs and like the others said check your rings.

When i had a compression test done cyclinders 1&4 were perfect. 2 was really low but had some 3 wasn't testable because the hole was to big I recently replaced spark plugs and realized that there is a coil wrapped around the spark plug to allow it to screw into the head. I have arp head studs so I not worried about those. And i would like to switch back cause i have learned so much more about these cars since I did the switch so long ago.
