Head reuse after blown motor?

Okay guys so some may know I blew my old engine up because of a shop error which e are currently trying to take care of but thats not the point. I had a built motor and a ported head and I spun a bearing and sent metal shavings through the entire engine. The head looks pretty good other than where the cams sit. Theres are some marks from wear from the cams because of lack of oil. Can I have a machine shop take care of this or is the head shot? I know theres no bearings there so I cant just have it cut and get over sized bearings. Any ideas?

It depends on how bad the damage is. You don't have any picture you could post, do you? If there's only light scoring on the camshaft journals there's a possiblity the marks can be micro polished out along with the camshafts (if they need it as well).

The only way to be absolutely certain though is to bring the cylinder head to an engine machine shop and have them inspect it in person.

Dont have any pictures right now hopefully I'll have some tomorrow when I hopefull get my car back from the mechanic.. Im really hoping I can reuse this there is a really nice port on it and I dont want to have to port a new head.. Thanks for the response Ill try and get some pictures up
