Head rebuild cost

How much would it cost to rebuild the head? All I want is oem nothing special done to it.

Depends what's wrong with yours. If it just needs new valve seals and cleaned up, $200. If all 16 valves are bent, could be upwards of $700, with the valves, lapping them, 3 angle grind, fixing any messed up guides, etc.

Why don't you just call your local machine shop for a quote?
If you take them the head just for them to look at it physically without touching anything, they shouldn't charge you at all.
Mine was $250, included; tank, disassemble, deck/resurface, new valves, grind seats, install new stem seals, assemble again.
I provided all parts tho.

Mine was 300 for a few new valves, cleaned, and bigger oil port.

Depending on the area of the country you are in, the prices vary, also depends on the shop and the equipment.

Around her in Pensacola, Fla. Price would be about this.

Valve job........ $160
includes, tear down, clean the casting and all parts, grind valve, cut seats and reassemble.

Surface........ $40

now if you need guide work, or valves replaced.. that will add to the cost

valves are about $10-12 each
Guides would be about $3.50 per guide, then appox $5 per guide to cange them out
Seals about $25 a set of 16

Thanks I did call a shop they charge $49 to tear it down to see what is wrong with it, and $189 to be clean and new valves. They said they would have to tear it down first to see what's wrong with it. Do I take off my cams or take it to them with them on?
