I had over heating problems and mixed oil in coolant and everything and everyone said head gasket. I pulled the head and the gasket doesn't appear to be heavily damaged. Should there be a place where I can look and plainly see where it broke, burnt, something?

A little back ground; accidently over boosted to like 28 psi, blowing the dip stick out of the tube and oil all over the place from the tube. Tmperature went to 3/4 on the gauge rather than 1/2 and stayed there unless under WOT conditons(it would drop) or with the heater cranked up(temp would also fall). Also, after the incident, the car was driven very lightly for diagnosing, then garaged so there wasn't much driving time afterwards.

Thanks for the help.

You should probably have the head checked for warpage. Sometimes when an engine overheats, the heat will just warp the aluminum.

When was the last time you changed the waterpump? If that went out it could overheat.

I just got back from dropping the head off so we'll find that out soon. I'm picking up a water pump tomorrow just in case it hasn't been changed before. The oil in coolant leads me to belive it was more than just a water pump though.

The hole thing was filthy but the only marks that even looked out of place were two marks the size of a dime that were blue and orange like burn marks on stainless steal looks. There weren't any rips or black spots that stood out. I guess it just worries me that I've been chasing a problem that might not exsist OMG

I think that was the case because my temps were only about 25 degrees higher than normal, it never really got really really hot. Plus I didn't drive it much after the initial incident. Thanks for the input girlieracr4g63 :thumb:
