Ok i was curious on what else would be a good idea to buy while rebuilding my head currently im going to buy:
-Brian Crower 272/272 Cams
-Brian Crower Valve Springs / Retainers
-TopLine Lifters
-ARP HeadStuds

Anything else i should plan on buying while im in their? LOL i thought about camgears but im sort of afraid of slipage.
Thanks for the input!

(wanting to buy directly from Extreme PSI only unless someone else has a better price)

Gaskets. I can think of at least 4 that you shouldn't reuse that are in or on the head.

Valve seals are also a good thing to replace if you are already planning on removing the springs during your work. Helps control oil consumption a little if they've never been replaced on your head before.

Just some info on that Top Line gasket set. In all honesty some of the gaskets are sub-par compared to OEM. Such as the intake manifold gasket which is paper instead of metal like the OEM version. It all depends on what you are going to do with your car, however. I have ran the paper gasket at 20psi with no problems.

Just something to consider.

Never thought about porting and polishing.

Should i buy cam gears while everything is apart, anything else i should consider??
Thanks

Is BC cams the way i should go? Their in my price range.

I havent heard a bad thing about BC cams. IMO they are a great alternative to HKS cams. You might also want to check out FP cams, which are cheap plus they offer a variety of options depending on your goals.

Adjustable cam gears probably arent worth it but again it all depends on your goals. Stock gears are sufficient for 80% of tuners.

the BC 272/272 on extremepsi is both intake and exhaust right? Cause its such a good price. LOL

Thanks :)
Gosh.. this is going to be a big job for someone who has never done it... (Me)
Lol;) Wish me luck when i get about 800$ to do it LOL!

Would u consider buying another head, and rebuilding it?
Or just take a weekend off get some of your friends and just go for it?

That depends on how quickly you want the car to be back up and running. Is this car your daily driver? If you want as little downtime as possible, go ahead and buy another head, have it resurfaced and rebuild it before removing the current one. If you think you can stand to go a few days while the head is cleaned up and machined then you don't need to really consider buying another head.
