Having trouble finding a 1G Eclipse/Talon AWD

Hey ya'll,

I'm new to DSM's but have an evo and love the 4g63.

well, I'm looking for a 1G talon/eclipse AWD and have trouble finding one in my area or even the surrounding state.

Do any of ya'll know of a place to seach for DSM's? other than the obvious ebay, autotrader, etc.

I am willing to travel probably up to 500-600 miles, but am still having trouble finding a 1G

I would Prefer a 1991 1G
please let me know if you have any info on sites I might be able to find one

BTW I have a rather small budget and a fix-er-upper is welcome.

I know of a 1990 for sale for REAL cheap around here but I've heard there are transmission differences between that and the other 1G's along with wiring harness differences....Is that true?

also, I'm assuming you can fix that by just putting a 91 tranny in it? is that correct?

also, are the wiring harness differences anything major? as in would it cause a lot of headache if I was to someday modify this car big? as in big turbo, stand alone, Speed density?

Try dsm trader,craigslist.The wiring isn't to much different you could always put a 91+ ecu in the car fairly easy,the trans. im not to sure about but i would'nt think they are to different.

Some obvious sites would be here, in the dsmtuners classified ads. Some other sites would be DSMsource.com Forums - Powered by vBulletin you will have to register there though before you can look at the classifieds, and dsmtalk.com, but you have to make a few post before you can browse their classifieds. Also I am sure there are a few local DSM sites for your region. Try taking a look at carolinadsm that should be pretty close to you. Good luck on your search, and post evo pictures haha.

Yes they have some minor wiring differences, no they will not cause you a major headache when you go to do big modifications. I'm not to sure abotu the transmission question though.

could always try carsoup.com... they were pretty good for me. You'll be able to search by region with it also. good luck, I love my 1990 gsx

I would check out this site as well as DsmTrader.com. Craigslist and Ebay as mentioned.
It can be hard to find a good 1g, then when you do buy one, go look a week later and you'll find 10 that were such a better deal than the one you just bought

+1 definately craigslist - i buy several of them off there every year -sh!t there was a 91 galant vr4 on there the other day that ran and drove for 2700 bucks- if i wasnt laid off i would have been all over it

i'm on carolina dsm, theres a few 1g's on sale there, or check NC craigslist. I would shy away from getting a dsm from up north because most of them are rusted out underneath or have break line that are on there last lim.
