Having Problems Datalogging

Ok i have a Sony Clie PEG-T415 with Palm 4.1 Os. I have the MMcd software and the PalmStein software. I got the cable off of ebay which has 3 pins to plug into the diagnostics port. Its the same chord that you would use for the MMcd. I pluged the prongs into the right spots start up the program then start my car and......nothing. I've tried everything. I started up the PalmnStein and i connected the cables right and went to try to log and......nothing. Its just not working?? Is there a specific step-by-step way to get it to work or am I just retarded??

Most likely the passive cable doesn't work with the Clie PEG-T415, since that PDA is claimed to work with MMCd.

Well what about the Palm N Stein?? Are u just sure that im not doing something right?
