Have a question about silencers & front license plate mounts :)

So I just recently got pulled over and got two tickets, one for no front license plate and another for loud exhaust. My question here is, in order to fix this problem, does anyone know if there exists a side mount for the license plate such as the evo x? or is the evo x's side mount compatible with our bumpers 2gb (doubt it )? Also, if I throw on a silencer would I experience any change in performance? Thanks for the help!

I would just challenge the exhaust too loud ticket, and say it is no louder than every other part store OEM replacement exhaust. They have nothing to base it against.

Silencers suck theyre very restrictive and yes it's a huge difference in performance, they also make your car sound like a Honda.

Any pictures of that installed on a DSM?

It's too long to go in the front grill area since it will be blocked by our FMICs and underneath our bumper is basically cheap plastic and a rotted brace beam with no real place to mount it.

Yea im thinking of just screwing the silencer and running it like that I'm pretty sure it was because I wa shifting at 4500 (loud) and it was at 7 am in the morning. I dont want my eclipse sounding like a fart rocket, very unpleasant loud noise or even worse losing performance . I was reading on another thread that a silencer robs boost from the car so right away its a h*ll no. That mount is sickkk! but what are the chances of it fitting the car if I drop it? :/ I think I'm going to pay the Mitsubishi dealer a visit and check out the side mount Thanks guys!

I can't link you to an example but I've seen people make the Evo 8 and Evo 9 license plate brackets work. I believe it took a bit of trimming to get the contour just right. I had thought about this for a long time and since just said screw it.

Why not just make your own (license plate)? It doesn't have many parts and that way you can make it to fit like you want to instead of buying a universal mount that you'll need to make work with the bumper. Doubt it'll cost you much to build it.

^ yea one guy on here made a sticker of his or a magnet and stuck it to his front bumper it looks pretty cool.

Isn't it? They also have a motorized one that activates using a remote.

You could hit it as you're getting pulled over.... "Ughhh...I most certainly do have a front plate officer"

I believe the evo x license plate bracket is the one that fits the best. bNasty has an evo bracket on his car and I think he said it was an evo x, it looks very nice.

Easiest fix would be to title the vehicle in a state that doesn't require front plates, just takes a family member you trust....

Lol only bad thing about that, is that I don't have any family members in any of those states . I think I'm going to get the Evo x bracket , sounds like the quickest deal.

If it is a fix it ticket, just put the silencer in and get the ticket signed and take it out after. That doesnt mean you need to run it all the time. I got a ticket, put the silencer in and then got my ticket signed paid 20 bucks and it was good. took it off after.

As for the front license, i would like to know how the evo x or what bracket would work also.
