Have a question about a car for sale????

I have found a car by where i live, It is a 90 eclipse GSX, it has 78,000 miles on it, he's selling it for $2,200. He just put in

*New Piston Rings
*Head work by a machine shop.
*New valve
*New head gasket
*New Timming belt
*New brakes (all 4W...pads and rotor)
*NEW BIG16G PORTED!!!!
*Apaxi S-AFC
*VDO BOOSt GUAGE

He just got his head back from a machine shop and installed it. There's a problem.
The car runs, but it hesitates to run over 1000 - 2000 rpm. It wants to stall. He thinks that he could have missed a wire or sensor while installing it. He says that it might be a air/fuel mixture problem, or the throttle sensor. Does this sound right, and if it does how much would it be to fix something like that, and if it isn't those what else could it be.

if i were you i wouldnt even consider buying it unless the problem is fixed..

What size injectors does the car have? It could be that tuning with the AFC wasn't done correctly. It could be that the ISC is not hooked up, the throttle position sensor is not set correctly, timing is off, BISS needs adjustment.

These are all easy things to check. If you eliminate these, then you'll know that it may be something major.

My car did that too, it ended up being an IC pipe that came off. Might be worth looking at.

Hey thanks once again. I just talked to the guy today. The car only hesitates to run around 1500 rpms, but it runs fine at idle, and over 2000 rpms. But other then that, i might be looking at the car today. If anyone thinks that they know the reason for the hesitation, any help will be appreciated.
