I've had this nasty little gremlin since I got the car. Everytime I open the hatch from outside the car with a key, the alarm goes off. When I open the hatch from the inside using the drivers side latch, it doesn't. Do I need to replace the switch for the alarm in the hatch? Is this an easy job and for that matter... a common one?

is this aftermarket alarm?

doesnt the hatch still use the door trigger switch. it would make sense if it went off if you opened it. it still shows entry into the vehicle. you sure you disarmed the car before opening it?

This is the stock alarm. It occurs after disarming as well. I assume that the alarm switch is attached to the key mechanism so it only occurs when I turn the key... but that's a best guess from looking at the diagram in CAPS.
