i did a quick search with no real results..

today this fairly clean 96 gst came up and he is asking $2300 obo

- New Water Pump
- Manual Greddy Boost Controller (turn up and down the boost)
- Upgraded Stereo Deck
- Upgraded Transmission

Bad:
- Needs a tune up, system is running to lean.

i know dyno time is quite costly, is their an alternative? my friend says you can buy a handheld tuner for around a couple hundred dollars i also know about ecu flashes which are more expensive than that and do you guys even think the car is worth it? and if their is a reasonable cheap tuner to get the car to pass safety then could you point me in that direction.

First off your friend is wrong, there is no hand held tuner for these cars that flashes the ecu. The only ecu's that are flashable are the 98-99, and you must have the right cable and a lap top. Second off, i don't see anything on that mod list that will require you to need any tuning done on the car. How does the guy know that it is running lean?

Hand held tuner what kind i only know of a logger, for something hand held for under 100 bucks. Many options have you looked into any types of way to tune your car plenty information here on some types that will fit your needs.

I came across a safc when i got my latest car, already had link so i sold it and made a few bucks for a upgrade to link full version 3. Grab a wideband, while your getting your tuning device.
