Hi everyone.
I drive a 1997 Hyundai Tiburon, and I have been hanging around the 4g61t.com forums for a while, but it looks like they went down. Anyways in the summer of 2005, Im planning on swapping a 4g63t into a 90-94 Hyundai Excel. Ill try my best not to post questions which have been answered hundreds of times, and I will contribute useful posts.

That sounds awesome. I've seen the swap before, and it's very cool. Good luck, and be sure to post pics/videos! :thumb:

Is this a joke....

Hyundai tuner... thats funny.

Whatever floats ur boat.

Holy shit, you've never seen excels or elantras running around with 4G63T swaps in them before?

Theirs nothing wrong with a FWD 2200lb 4g63 powered car.

Just the motor swap alone would put the car into the 13s easily, probably deep 13s with slicks. Minor bolt ons up to 300hp, and you can probably "reliably" run 11s.

I really like the current Tiburons. If I made a couple more hundred a month, I think I'd pop for one, and I've never considered a new car before. The main thing that holds me back is the damned FWD, but I don't know how much longer I can keep my bigotry intact. I took one for a test drive, with the V-6, and it felt really good. Seems like a lot of car for $20K.

I think Sports Compact had a 4G63T Excel last year.

I agree. They're starting to become decent cars. I knew someone with a newer Kia Optima and the damned thing looked and felt like a lexus. The interior was great, engine was smooth, ride quality was superb. I give it a :thumb:

Does anyone know what happened to 4g61t.com? it went down a few days ago  . I have an 89 colt gt turbo, and they had alot of good info over there. Does anyone know if it will be back up?
Can we post stuff about those cars? they share alot of dsm stuff.

Thats why I came to this site...

Thanks for your positive feedback, hopefully I will be the first person in Canada to pull the swap off. The car in SCC was a 4 door, Im planning on droping the 4g63t into a hatchback. With a little money almot any car can be made into a moderately fast car.

maybe we should add a "4g63 hybrids" section, for cars with 4g63 swaps in them.

Ya, like :dsm: Mighty Max and :laser: Ram D50 trucks. I plan on building one next summer. 4g63, big 16g, fmic, 5-spd, RWD... sounds like a good combo to me! :thumb:

ya can buy my g/f's v6 GT with a 6-speed!

its slow as dirt - she now drives a a/t dsm and its alot faster. ohh and that warrenty ?
didnt help much when her clutch went with under 30k on the car. It took her flywheel out with it. They wouldnt cover the f/w ($800) because it was damaged by a part that only coverd for a year ( clutch )

Last time i checked i was entitled to my opinion. My opinion of hyundai's are they are cheaply made korean imports. The only hyundais driving around by me are the new tiburons, and i walk on them all day. All others are broke down in junkyards. Yes the quality is getting better, but the new body style is not for me. :barf: Thats my OPINION of hyundai's thank you. I really don't need all you guys telling me about motor swaps "have you seen .... its so fast" Ok thats really nice, but you can put a small block v8 in a geo metro. Some people may love it, others may hate it. I for one think its funny to see the transmission inside of the car. Don't bash on peoples opinions. You could hurt someones feelings. :D

Yup, the GK tibs are slow. dave99gst sorry to hear about your GF ride, sound like she got the raw end.

I always get a good laugh when somebody on here calls another car "cheaply made". Take a look at what you are driving buddy, not the top shelf of quality. In fact, its quite a pos. They look good and they are fast, but thats about it.
