Alrighty, here is my problem. I took my 95 GS to a professional mechanic to have the timing belt done. I get a call saying that after the belt was done it had a rough idle. He took it apart and did it again and it has the same problem. He is certain that the marks are aligned properly and we are both confused about where to go from here. I put on new NGK plugs, new wires, MSD ignition coil and all have failed to cure the rough idle. He did a compression test to see if the valves were bent or anything and it has 190 PSI in each cylinder. Has anyone else had this same problem? Any information or suggestions would help! Thanks!

Also ask if the oil pump sprocket is on right. Its possible that it could be on 180 backwards. Happend to me. The way you tell is there is a bolt by the oil pump sprocket, you loosen it and stick a screwdriver up there. If it fits in all the way easy then its on right. Not sure if thats what it could be but you could always mention it to him.

In my case i had bad idle before i changed my timing belt, Turns out the dealership that had done the belt had missed a tooth on the Exhaust cam gear. Once i adjusted that (plus replaced other component - whole other story) it run fine, very nice idle.

Alrighty, problem is cured. I guess the mechanic was off a tooth in the exhaust cam gear. Thanks for your help everyone!
