Had my wrist pins pressed in, how do I do the clips?

I have 1g big rods with 1g Ross 8.5:1 pistons bored .020 over

Well I had the wrist pins pressed in at the machine shop. But now for the clips, do they just sprial in? Im having trouble spiraling them because they keep popping out. Do I just force them in? Since they were pressed in do I even need them? I searched but didnt find anything, thanks...

All I know about this relates to SBC v8's. But normally when the rods are heated and then the pin is pressed in, you don't need the clips. I have put some clips in pistons that require them and its a real PAI. I used 2 small screw drivers to start spiraling them in and then keep turning them in all the way until they pop into place. Like I said, v-8, small block chevy stuff, so I would probably wait for more advice or seek out your local engine builder.(the machine shop that pressed them in might be able to tell you) Just though I could give you a little insite on what I have seen.

So since they are heated and pressed I dont need the clips right anyone?

As far as I know, wrist pins that are pressed in don't require retaining clips. Rods that use floating pins require the locking clips because the pins are not pressed into the rods and 'float' freely inside of the rod and piston.

I have the exact same set up, pressed in and everything and you dont need the spiral-locks if you had them heated and pressed in.
