I have had 3 DSMs now and I'm slowly moving up in the DSM world. My first I replaced the tiny t25 with a 14b then sold it. The next car I replaced the stock t25 with a 16g. Well I'm on my 3rd DSM now and I want small upgrade from the 16g, what would you guys suggest? T3T4? Thanks in advance for your opinions......:thumb:

Pump gas king...hahaha sounds like exactly what I need

Look into the Holsets...latest and greatest fad for serious pump gas DSM power for cheap.

There are several huge threads on them here...if you can't find what you are looking for, drop Matt (DSMonster) a PM... he is the resident wiseman expert on the Holsets (or any other turbo for that matter) and a helpful guy.

Justin (another wiseman) is also very knowledgable and a good guy to get some help from, and he also rebuilds turbos and I believe has some for sale from time-to-time. I can't remember his username at the moment...I'll post it up here in a second.

EDIT:

Justin is jusmx141

I dont understand how most people claim they grow out of a 16g. when in fact that turbo is enought for about 90 percent of dsm'r there are people running single didgets on the little bastard i know those are the extreem cases but its also not rediclous to look at getting it into low 12s high 11s with proper supporting mods and tuning.

Make sure you get one that has a 360* bearing, not that 270* crap.

Why would they even make a bearing that doesn't surround the shaft? But yet the condom corporations don't give us any help WTF LOL

I had a 16g on my car and I HATED it.

So true. LOL

I love my e316G... but I'm still planning on an HX-35 for my stroker once I can afford it :D

yeah I mean a properly ported e316g and good manifold can make a pretty nasty ass street car.

my advice to you, dont build a stroker motor.

For the price, you can't beat what everyone already mentions.

WRT the 50 trims. . . A t31 50 trim with a BEP turbine housing is a great option. Better than an scm5031. Which is identical but with the terrible PTE bolton housnig. It's not good for anyone who wants to actually make power with a faster spooling bolton turbo. The FPgreen has a 50-trim compressor with a terrible 7cm^2 turbien housing but a GREAT td06h turbine wheel. So the flow is good too. Better than the scm5031.

There's plenty of other turbos that flow inte 50-trim range and spool the same, or better, or slightly later. There's all sorts of turbos that meet your goal, period. Price is always a factor. What is your goal?

WRT the e3 16g, when you have run 10s with an evo3 16g and ARE WILLING to tell us exactly every detail you did to get there, then you can claim the evo3 16g is plenty for a certain ET. There's alot more to an ET than the turbo. What do you have to go through to get an evo3 16g to the high 10s or low 11s? Is it worth the difference in buying another turbo? Especially if the other turbo isn't even $300 more. Again price is always a factor. There are those who've made low 11 second passes on other turbos mentioned in this thread with the stock manifolds and drivetrain.

OP where have you gone with the 16g so far? What was your latest lb/min and/or track MPH (NOT et)?

surprised no one has said anything about FP3052 or FP3065...

Agreed. Only problem is FP turbo's get expensive depending on what you get. They make quality pieces, but you pay for it. And if you get a turbo that uses V-Band o2 or EWG then you need a $400 TiAL EWG and a $300 FP o2 housing plus a dump tube! But I love my FP3150!!

Honestly though, for a street car any variety of 20G is AWESOME because you can get them cheap, bolt them up, and make great power AND they have excellent street manners. Just my personal opinion though. You have to think about your power goals/time goals/budget.

Can't you get a TiAL for less than that? . . .But yes you can get a 20g cheaper than the FP3052/65 or hta fp turbos for sure after install. All the FP bolton turbos require an after market o2 housing. They do very well, but an aftermarket o2 housing makes a huge difference in flow at this level too. . . Can you get a far less expensive turbo that flows as well and spend a little bit on a better o2 housing;)?

There's turbos far less expensive than a td06 20g. A td05h 20g is not worth it here IMHO.
