gt35r???

Agreed. Considering your goal, you can find a bolton turbo that will spool much faster and flow WAY more at the level where the ebay turbo will blow up. Not that the ebay turbo will blow up earlier because of efficiency; the wheel will be just in it's efficiency range and still the chra or worse will come apart likely. A one time cost for an ebay turbo will be the same for another used one that is of better quality than ebay china new.

I'm sorry, but these photos illustrate the most pathetic setup I've ever seen:

The ad should read:

"Go ahead and bolt our Chinese journal-bearing-ball-bearing turbocharger to your unmodified engine using our T4 manifold that also happens to be drilled for a T3-flanged GT35 turbo for a flawless fit, smooth transition of exhaust flow, and leakproof seal.

You can also vent our shitty blow off valve to atmosphere using your stock 1G draw-thru MAS with the stock paper air filter and stock fuel system as long as you don't go over 6psi. Your buddy with a 14B will be running circles around you at this point, and you'll be left scratching your ass trying to figure out what you just spent $1700 on, but it sure will look impressive when you pop your hood!"

Don't even waste your time. Get an HX-35, send it out for a rebuild, get a BEP housing, FP Race Manifold, Tial wastegate and Punishment Racing o2 housing and you will STILL be less thank the price of that junk. Not to mention money left over for supporting mods.

LOL!!!!! That was hilarious, i've been back and forth arguing with the guy at cxracing "kevin xie" about how the turbo he's trying to sell me is crap. It's soo hard not to drop 600 bucks on a 35r ;) But I've learned that taking advice is a money saver. I'm looking for a used or somewhat budget 30r or 35r to run on my fwd. Looking for 350-400 whp and low 11 second quarter's. (decided to bring up my goals in this thread because a couple wisemen were on this topic) I'm also curious about what the stock MAF can take before being completely over-run. When i get the money i'll put a gm MAF on my intake pipe with a translator and just keep resirculating my bov.

I've already proven the durability of the Chinese GT35(R?) to be shittier than shitty. I'd rather buy a good used H1E or HX40 for $200-$250, and a Bullseye housing for another $230-$250. That's right, I would literally trust the reliability of a junkyard turbo on my car over an eBay GT35(R?).

Ahh ok! Well i'm glad i found this thread before i got any bad ideas! Thanks guys. I almost figured that since the other products i'm using of theirs maybe the turbo's wouldn't be so bad. There's ton's of threads and postings about what turbo people recommend for what set-up and what not. But seriously i'm at a loss for what i want..I could easily get an e316g or the new hta68 for cheap that both will hold up well and perform great, but I love the feeling of a 4500 rpm YANK into the seat over a full spool at 2800 rpm. I want to safely make 350-400 whp on my fwd without touching the block besides maybe a new head gasket and arp studs. While doing this i want to run low 11's possibly high ten's.

Here's the 400whp list so far:
gm maf w/ trans
link
30 or 35r (completely guessing)
kelford 272's or fp2's for cams

I absolutely love having the dsm wisemen available to contact about what to do. Money is tight, i'm working two part time jobs and every cent i make goes into the car!!

Go with a Holset.

Holset turbos sound sick! If you can direct me to a thread or site that has all the specs and/or description of each holset model i could probably pick one out that best suits my goals and set-up
