I was originally looking at getting a GT3582HTA but theres a FP3065 for sale local, not cheap either, about the same price as I can get the GT3582HTA. Does the FP3065 compare to the GT3582HTA?

Technically, can't both use the FP30 housing?

Yes you can get the 3582HTA in the FP bolt-on housing.

It spools a couple hundred RPM's faster and has an advantage in spool up the whole time, like for instance on the same setup it was making 8psi more at 4000rpm's compared to the 3065.

Wow, really? That's a pretty big difference. This is with the same turbine housing, right?

Good info.

Mitsu bolt on housings give up some power. The volutes are not the most efficient.

the HTA will make much better power, and spool faster.

yeah, I think I'd rather wait for the HTA, I think I'm going to be more likely to use the full potential of it. I don't want to be limited with the other one. He did call me last night though, he said he'd let it go for 3600$ with the AEM EMS.

Considering I see AEM go for 8-900 used at times, and a new turbo is what, 1200-1700 depending on what you actually go with.. You'd be best off to buy everything new yourself, then second hand for new prices.

Exactly, So they are in the $1700 range I believe? add TOPS 2000 for aem and you sitting at the price buddy wants for a smaller turbo and used gear, not sure where he gets that figure.

And I'm not one to doubt decisions/ or sway peoples choices, but the HTA's seem pretty pricey to me. I paid what some would consider a premium to buy a borg, but it's still hundreds less then that, and can make more power.

The HTA part is why it's pricey, spools way faster and I'm going for a very quick revving and spooling setup.

He is including a 3" o2 housing and a few other smaller miscellaneous items but still not close to being worth it IMO

I thought the T3 housing gave more power?

Does anyone know what is the max. power the GT3582HTA is capable of and the full spool time is? There's so much talk on how good this turbo is. I might consider switching to it from the HX-40.

I have the 3582hta in my talon and it works awsome, I did have the 3065 last year on the car. You gain a lot of torque in the low end..

Was swapping from the 3065 to the HTA the only change you made? What turbine housing do you have on your HTA? Any logs that you can post up showing the difference in spool? Any difference in boost recovery between the two turbos? Thanks!
