gsx exhaust in a gst??

Hey guys i just found a deal on a full 3" megan exhaust. Only thing is its off a 2g gsx. Can i use it in the gsx routing?

The cat back part of the exhaust may work. I have seen some awd catbacks on fwd cars (or so the owner claimed). On a 2wd factory the exhaust went over, where the awd goes under the rearend. So i theory you could use an awd or fwd catback on a 2g 2wd but only an awd catback on an awd. But I guess it all comes down to manufacturer.

The exhaust will rub the gas tank and hit the rear axle and rattle. I had a Awd thermal exhaust on my 91 talon TSI fwd so I know it will work, but, you will have those two issues.

Lol well catback is kinda out of the question for me as mine is straight piped to a chambered muffler. And theyre really just a waste of time since the most restrictive part of the exhaust is the flexpipe, cat, and resonator. I just want a new exhaust so i can go 2 1/2" all the way, and get rid of some aggravating clank noise from the patched exhaust. Ill just pay the muffler shop to do it

Haha it definitely wont work for you. At least not the 1g awd exhaust. They have so many bends its pathetic

Ok a friend and I just talked about this and figured it out. It will not work on a 2g, because the gas tanks are different. On an awd there is a hump for the drive shaft and exhaust to run through. On a 2wd the gas tank is flat and the exhaust runs around the gas tank. I stand corrected and retract my previous statement.

The fuel tanks are different from fwd to awd. On fwd tanks the exhaust runs around the drivers side of the fuel tan. On awd cars the exhaust runs under the fuel tank . The awd model tank is wider than the fwd models and extends in to the area which would be occupied by the exhaust on a fwd,also the awd tank is indented to allow for clearance of the exhaust and drive shaft . On 2g models, im not sure as to 1g.

I had a thermal catback for gst..I assure you it will not work on a gsx..I didnt want to mod it, so I let someone else have it.
