Broke balance shaft on the way home from work and had her towed home (AWD all 4 wheels spinning). Ended up putting a bse kit in and the car sat for about a month ,now when I put it in reverse or downshift I feel and hear a bit of binding underneath.
T/C was removed in the process of bse but what the deal is is stumping me...u joint maybe? Drive line feels pretty solid.

Not that great..rough idle! .pretty sure I'm 1 tooth off on timing so I just parked her for now until I can tear into her again...driver side motor mount is tight along with cross member.
no drive train problems other than a leaky pinion seal (small) still has fluid...but when I jacked the car up it developed a leak at the seal where the tranny bolts up to the t-case ,but it stopped after a bit....the problem is I had my car parked @ my stepdads shop where half lit people would want to help, with me missing half of what they did...until I said back the f#$% off

Something wacky could have happened while towing? The leak on the t case, is it big enough to run it dry? Its just a guess on the center diff by the way, but those are the exact symptoms youd experience with a blown center diff.

I wouldn't think the leak on the tranny seal was big enough at the time it was leaking and it corrected it self...how is the best way to diagnose this isue?thanks

I think the problem came from towing the vehicle. Bet the drive shaft wasn't disconnected before they pulled it home.

Anything can happen I guess but from what I read it is ok to tow a awd with all the wheels on the ground...I was in the car and nothing felt weird but, then again anything can happen

okay, so if the TCase is still attatched, should you be able to twist the driveshaft just a hair and it hit with a clunk?

when my car shifts it clunks because the rear driveshaft doesn't seem to be tight, but no fluids has ever leaked out.

I cant tell from just what you're explaining, but I will tell you that backing in reverse with a jacked center diff makes the car bind so bad its feels like something is going to snap. You can feel the tension.
