im getting a GST with 133,xxx miles, im not sure what the below is but whats it gana cost me?? any help??

The Con's:
The clutch is dieing but tranny is good.
out of freon (I was going to yank the A/C to save weight so I never refilled it).
The SRS light is on because the car had a MOMO Steering wheel and was not reconnected when the stock wheel was put back in.
The driver side door window is off the track (still goes up and down)(I will try and find time to get it fixed).
scratches and dings from being 11 years old.
no Stereo, but I ran wires for a 4 channel amp (included) which include the power wire connected to the battery, remote wire and RCA wires.

Well if your going to mod it look into an aftermarket clutch, ex. act2600 or sbr3500 ect.

AC you can get a recharge kit at a parts store.

the drivers side window is common, I have that same problem.

And cd players depends on how nice you want

Get it replaced, not sure how much it will cost you, cause haven't had to price it out. Knock on wood.

Yeah definatley get that fixed. You dont want to drive it home and lose the ability to shift. ROFL

Sorry for the d2nd post, but a good bit to go by is if you say ________ has a problem, fix it dont ask if you should. If there's a little problem it can escalate into a huge problem pretty quick.

well im getting this car friday and ith has a problem with the Cluch master cylinder and i was woundering if this was a big deal?

Clutch master isn't hard to replace, and a rebuilt one is around $70 around here. Get id done, or car will leave you stranded on the road at one point.

You might want someone to follow you. Cause if the Master cylinder goes out, your gonna be stranded.

okay car has:
PTE 50 trim upgraded turbo.
Pace Setter tubular exhaust manifold tapped for an E.G.T. probe.
3" down pipe.
3" Carsound Hi Flow Cat.
3" exhaust.
ground control style coilovers.
Greddy upper intercooler piping.
Greddy Blow Off Valve.
Dejon Tool Intake pipe w/ K&N intake filter.

what kind of gas should i burn? 88? 89? 91?
and i still dont know what kind of clutch/flywheel i should get.

Thanks guys!

get an ACT 2100 or 2600. also dont run anything under 91 octane I believe it will rewrite the fuel maps in your ecu. Your turbo motor will need premium to run at its best. More octane more boost with less knock.

Crankwalk is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overrated..... but if your still nervous about it then I'd get the ACT2100

I heard that most of the ACT clutches promote crankwalk? is this true?

The way I see it, if particular car is prone to crankwalk to begin with, then stiff clutch will accelerate the process. Otherwise stiff clutch won't actually introduce crankwalk into a good engine.

so a ACT 2600 clutch is in order, what about a flywheel?
most of the gas stations here only carry up to 89 will this be okay? or will i need some octaine booter stuff? dose that stuff even work?
I got that Clutch master cylinder fixed, and some line that was causing a leak. cost a little less then 300$ at a 76 gas station shop.
now my engine has 133,xxx miles on it, should i rebuild soon or wear it out till it has no more? or should i get one off ebay from japan with less then 30,ooo miles?

thanks for all the help guys!

well how much do you want to spend. You could go with a ACT lightend flywheel or a Fidanza. And yes you need to find premium gas.

With a 50 trim the fuel system should have been upgraded and the car needs to be tuned. What has been done in that area?

I guess if you drove it home then it runs fine though.

fix:

--->Just get the A/C Recharged $125 or get a repair kit for a faction of the price and do it your self
--->Rent a steering wheel puller (Free from autozone if u return it afterwords) and take off the steering wheel and reconnect the steering wheel. FREE
--->Drivers Window Regulator and Motor - $85 and do it your self in 30 min tops
---> New Clutch - Price can range from $100 and up with free labor or take it to a shop and get charged $600 labor

as far as tuned, it has a Apiex (unsure) somthing, im unsure of what it is, its a littile black ractangle thing that came with the car. I will take a picture and show you tomorrow after noon after work.

the car is okay, tho i still need a clutch replacement witch i plan on doing next check, for now im going to keep driving my 97 RS. Tho I LOVE MY New GST! when i first got the RS i thought it couldnt get any better, but it did! My gst IS my NEW baby! im going to put most of my free money in to it, im guessing about 100-300 a month. altho i still need to get things kixed in it, i just found that my Oil gauge is not working, that thing next to the stock boost meter.

thanks!
