GS-T Idle fluctuating BIG time...

I think i'm about to give up on this car. Can anyone check out the video i made and give me there take on it? I just installed the greddy type s knock off bov I got yesterday and it seemed fine and then tonight this crap started happening as seen in the video. Only thing is I put back on a stock evo8 bov (both recirculated) and its still giving me this problem, so it doesnt seem to be the bov itself..Not sure what to make of this pos. (8,000 dollars in this car and it's not worth a penny...FML)

That looks like the ISC motor is gone caputs or something is sticking.

What means isc?

read the first one real quick, the idle doesnt drop when i let off the gas it was going up to about 1.3 - 1.4k rpms when i was driving around just before this issue started tonight.

The isc is the idle speed control motor located on the throttle body.

your cel is on only now or it was always on???

these symptoms seem to me like a bad TPS . throtlle position sensor


check the following:
TPS and the connector
ISC and the connector
Boost leaks
check you BISS ( base idle screw)

i bet that its a loose TPS connector , check it out it might be as simple as that

90% chance it is the censor that controls your idle... its on your TB my friends 90 gvr4 was doing that for a while and that is what it was.

i would try getting the new isc asap. if it is whats bad your guna be doing that idle hop in the 3000`s.

Yeah the ISC, Idle Speed Controller is bad.

But I read that if the ISC sensor is bad then the car will eventually stall, it doesnt stall at all. The check engine light was always one (something about catalyst not the cat)

by the way i should mention that my car is turning over very slowly and my lights dim and abs light pops on and radio flickers on and off (alternator and battery are brand new however and were tested and installed professionally.

Well at the very least you can take your isc motor out and check the resistance between the pin outs it is part of the first article I sent you, then if you know 100% that the isc motor is good then you can eliminate it as the problem, I am going to be testing mine in the next couple days here because I am having the same issue as you and I know that my throttle is slightly sticking,

So i am planning on:

-taking the Tb off and cleaning it with Carb Cleaner
-Testing the ISC motor pin resistance
-boost leak testing from my frount mount intercooler inlet (not from in front of the turbo)
-Also I am replacing my BISS screw and Tb seals (not necessarily needed but I am doing it anyways)

I will also be testing my TPS sensor using http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/345177-resolved-tps-sensor-bad.html

Just for the hell of it

you need to get a logger so you know what CEL is coming on and what error the car is giving you
