grinding away....

every single time i shift to second, it grinds like a mofo.

i'm gonna drop the tranny and replace everything myself but first i need to know:

where i can get a new 2nd gear (possibly with double syncro) TRE will sell me a kit for like cose to $400..... that's a lot for one gear.

i heard that the stock syncros are crap. is this true? where can i get aftermarket syncros? thanks for any info.

will any 1G awd transmission fit on my 1G engine? i found one somewhere but i dont know if it will fit my car.

ok, i've determined my tranny is probobly a 2G tranny but i'm not too positive on that.

the question still remains, where to buy a 2nd gear and syncro for my tranny????
