Grenaded my turbo. Have a few questions

As the title states, my t25 blew up on the highway. I plan on replacing it with a small 16g and new intercooler hard pipes.

My big concern is that when the turbo went, the compressor wheel rubbed on the housing and there are some small metal filings in the intake tract. What would be the chances that I messed up my engine? What all should I clean out during the new turbo install. I do intend to re-use the stock intercooler, so I'll have to clean that out, along with the intake mani. All of the intake piping from the turbo to the throttle body will be replaced. Is there anything I'm missing? (aside from an oil and filter change)

I checked the plugs for evidence of foreign materials in the combustion chamber and there was none and the compression is spoton across the board (170 - 175 psi). Is there anything to be worried about or am I thinking too far into this?

No particles large enough to do damage should make it through the intercooler. As long as you flush the intercooler well prior to installing the new turbo, you should have nothing to worry about.

Like justin said, all that work is overkill..Metal is going to drop to the bottom of the intercooler not make it all the way up..

I had shavings (small as they may be) in the UICP. It was more or less like a fine metallic dust. I was just concerned that the dust may cause damage to the engine and possibly the new turbo.

So I have nothing to worry about? Just clean her up an go, right?

I would say clean it up and MAYBE use a shop vac on some of the ports but other than that, change the oil and filter.

Maybe just change oil and filter, that's it. Intercooler is what you have to worry about the most. Clean it out real good and that's it.

Just clean out all IC pipes, and IC, you should be good..But While your putting in work, an oil change wouldn't be a bad idea..You can never change your oil too often right..
