The green white wire behind my radio hasn't been hooked up for the longest only cuz i ran a led strip for my cluster after the dimmer went out. My interior is gutted the only factory light is my cluster. Which I would like to get back... i wanna get rid of the led strip. There is a green white wire behind my radio that if I connect to power it turns on with the acc but when headlights are on it turns off my interior lights? Is something crossed or am I putting that wire to the wrong place?...

I am not sure how you have it wired but green/white is the illumination wire. I just checked the wiring diagram nothing seems out of the ordinary. However, one thing to note and possibly the reason for your issue is that aftermarket radios are designed to lower illumination when headlights are turned on because it's assumed you are driving at night and do not want to blind the driver. I wouldn't think this is what is causing your issue but it's possible

The illumination circuit will change to operate dim feature of the radio like mentioned above for night time driving. Factory illumination circuits in many cars cause big issue in the aftermarket car audio world some like it some wreak havoc with weird cluster lights coming on and on newer cars it sometimes plays with can-bus and causes problems with ac controls and such..sorry for long msg but if you are simply wanting a "light" source I would tap acc from ignition switch fused obviously and could wire up a relay to battery with acc as the trigger turn on if you want more safety to factory wiring. Thank you for your time, Jason Penny

So in reply to all of that, I can simply run a power wire to that wire its self ? And no run off the radio at all ?

Then your dash lights should work like normal. The green/white wire is a dimmer sense wire for stereos, an output. You're backfeeding into it and it's illuminating only in certain situations. You need to find the proper power supply for the dash lights.
