Greddy Type S Style Question

I just got a Greddy Type S Style Universal BOV.

I was wondering if any of you have it and i was wondering what spring setting you found to be most effective. I adjusted the spring rate by playing with the screw on the top of it a little but i didn't notice much difference in sound. At low speeds and low boost it sounds sequential. At higher speeds and boost it sounds like a high pitched psssssshhhhh.

when i got mine it was set to a boost level that i wanted so i didnt adjust anything. If you adjust the screw for a different sound, would that change the level of boost at the same time ?

sounds like how my type s used to sound

as far as adjusting it goes it can't change any pressures unless it is so open that it is leaking. many people say the adjust ment does little/nothing and you should just leave it in the OE position.
I got mine from a friend (unreliable second hand off half hack Probe with a WRX turbo that never got done) and it fluttered at 20psi.... alot of people wind up modding it and removing a spring when they upgrade their turbo....it also surged on the T04E and I have read of other people having the same problem until finding a suitable mod. Keep that in mind when you start upping your boost.

you don't adjust the screw for different sounds, you adjust it so that it stays closed and opens when it should.

yup. hard/soft means how much pressure you're putting on the spring to keep the valve closed.

like said before, most people leave it at the OE position and call it today. from what you've posted, your BOV is fine.

btw, how's it holding boost? I've always wanted to know with these 'knockoff chinese-made" BOVs

Not to talk trash but I made the mistake of buying a Type S when I had my 2G Eclipse - trash. I did however like the sound, when it didn't leak.

My bad run in with the BOV doesn't mean you'll have one - just my two cents for me wasting my money...

how can you guys tell its leaking ? does your boost drop a little while trying to build it ?

When your saying Greddy Type S STYLE, did you mean the fake Greddy off of Ebay.

I am just wondering if it is the fake one on ebay and also, making sure if it works the same.

do an intake pressure test to 20 psi.. you'll hear it leak if it's faulty.

and i'm sure he meant it was a knockoff because no one ever says type s "style" BOV.

can anyone with the greddy type-s style knockoff from ebay report how the product is holding up..

how much boost, turbo, etc you guys are running.

these things look identical to the authentic greddy type s.. and based on some posts here it seems like it sounds like it too.. but of couse performance is key.. surge? leaking?

if they work great.. not bad for $90 shipped to ur door.

funny how someone mentions chinese made.. all those expensive electronics that originate from japan.. then the chinese knockoffs come out which are way cheaper and have more features.. its starting to converge to car stuff as well..

they need to knock off EBCs, and apex afcs..
