ok i installed my greddy type S BOV, and my ques it, do i have to tune it to my car meaning the spring thing, by using a alen wrench??? i put it on and it ran fine, i tried adjusting it like one of the forms said, like u tune it and the spring goes up and down or something ,but it wasnt moving can i just leave it, and also previous i had the blitz DD vented now i am recir and my gas millege is the same wtf 18mpg w/ intake,BOV and ic pipes, i mean i only drive a short distance to work like 6 miles would o2 sensor give a lot more gas millege?
thanks

I would like to know that too. I got my greddy type s yesterday. I tried tuning it today and i couldnt see the puck on the inside moving at all then i moved the screw. It sounds good it has a little flutter and then a high pitch sound. And at low psi it makes a flutter. Is this how it is supose to sound?

Same in my GSX. I figure a little flutter wont hurt the car, seems like it's not gonna go away.

18mpg on a GSX isnt bad. Thats how much Im getting right now. It was worse before at 16mpg.

Im recirculating and have the screw adjusted halfway.

i think if its making a flutter at low boost it means its set too hard. my freind thought he knows turbos like no other and thought he can tune my bov. then it fluttered at 5lbs and had just a little squak at full boost. then i waited till he left, and redid it myself. put it between medium and medium-high,(so it was just like 2-3 threads tighter than how it came) and it makes the high pitched squak at 5lbs, and a loud cssshhhhht at full boost.

i love it.

How can I start over without knowing how loose or tight the screw is overall? I don't remember how it came and it seems like whether I have it a full turn clockwise, or a full turn counter clockwise is still sounds and feels the same.

underground...do you have both vacuum lines hooked up? if you don't and you are running low boost, you're ALWAYS going to be running TOO hard of a setting. The only way around that would be removing one of the springs inside the BOV which I do NOT recommend

Sorry this is off topic but Thomas that is a badass signature!!! :thumb: Can you enlighten me as to how you made that? If you made it, that is. That is suhweet!! Reminds me of the video game XIII if youve ever seen it, it's like cel-shaded.

Sorry to get off topic, the rest of you can ignore me :D

No. I only have one vacuum like hooked up. The other one you're referring to would be the very small metal tube coming from the top??? What's the importance of that?

BTW it doesn't make sense to me, because just a couple weeks ago it was venting loudly, whether I was at high boost or a couple psi.

i'm referring to the lower nipple under the one that is rerouted back into the intake manifold...it assists in opening the valve so you can have a stiffer setting without the flutter...

I dont know where to connect that to though, I used a T to connect it to the line that goes from the wastegate to my mbc and the boost went up really high and i couldnt turn it down. What hose do i connect it to?

Yea that one, where can i hook it up on my 2g? My friend with a 1g hook his up right up to the j-pipe nipple with his mbc. I tee'ed myne up to the line goining from my wg to my mbc and the boost shot right up. Im getting sick of the fluttering where else can i hook the second nipple up to on the type-s?

it just needs a boost source...u can tap a hole into one of your intercooler pipes the way i did...the ghetto way would be to drill a hole and jb weld a nipple on it like me because i'm ghetto...one end on your mbc should be going to the j pipe nipple...the lower vacuum should be tee'd off on that line...remember...when it comes to the boost source...the closer to the turbo the better

On his j-pipe it does not have a nipple for a vaccume line. he has two vac lines. 1 is from the wastegate to the boost controller, The other goes from the intake manifold to the bov and is also tee'd off which leads to the other nipple on the boost controller. Each one he connects the vac line to, The boost raises too much.
