I dont know to much about the Greddy kit but i would think it would be the same for all 2g's. It also says "Model: Eclipse GST/GSX 1995-1999". And God that is a pricy kit.

Yes you can run that kit on a 98.
The reason why that kit is so pricy is because GReddy paid to have the kit CARB certified, so it is, and it has an Executive Order # D-397-3.

You can put that EO# in on this page, and it will break it down for you.

I know it's for California, but if it works here, then it should work anywhere right...

Oh, and BTW, they also paid for their FMIC's to be CARB legal, that's why those POS's are so damn pricey too. Their EO# is D-397-2.

Ouch! return that thing, buy an EVO 16g and Dejon or FP inlet pipe, install kit, and save yourself $1k!

It was a gift from his GF, so it wasn't his money that paid for it.
I say rock it....

I broke traction with my 18g on dry pavement, and I'm rolling some decent tires too...
I can't wait to get that thing tuned to 20 psi with my DSMLink this weekend.

To Talonkid, you should get a new DP for that 18g, that thing needs to breath.
It's a larger turbo that a 16g, so full boost is around 36 - 3800 rpm.
Oh, and if you don't have an AFPR, you need one with that Wally 255.

Oh, and one more thing.
That 18g has a 6cm^2 turbine housing.
Port that thing out and port your manifold and get a 7cm^2 gasket from SBR or equal.

There is a 1/2" thk metal spacer that goes between the Turbine housing, and the Ex Man to space down the turbo so the comp cover doesn't hit the water pipe.
Shit can that spacer, and dent the water pipe to fit that big ass comp cover in there.
Oh, and while you're at it, buy 8 new turbo washers, and 4 new turbo screws.
Those Socket Head Cap Screws that GReddy gives you bend and stretch all over the place.
When you install it, use plenty of high temp anti-sieze.

Pipe up if you have any problems or questions about installing that turbo.

yah i got a megan downpipe which has 2.75 inlet and 3.0 outlet which bolts on perfectly to my hks hi power exhaust....and yah it was a present so i think ima rock it! :thumb: :sneaky: anyways about the porting thing yah ima ask about that and all the other stuff you told me...

im running rc 550cc injectors, walbro 255 , aem fuel rail, safc 2, and blitz icolor boost controller...

My really good friend has the 18G Greddy turbo kit with the Greddy 18R FMIC, Greddy 660cc injectors, Walbro 255, S-AFC, Greddy Type-S BOV, and HKS Hi-Power exhaust on his automatic 98 GSX... and it bolted up perfectly and runs awesome. But if I am not mistaken, he also has the Megan downpipe and he had to have a section cut out to shorten it so it would fit... But maybe just a fluke on the one he got...

nah actually i had to get it fixed also...i think all megan downpipes for the gsx have that problem...o well i got the downpipe for free jus had to pay for it to get fixed 50 dollars...
