I was thinking of posting this on 'track talk' but I didn't do this on a track.
I was doing some runs through the canyon when I got gravel wedge in my rims. It was a slight downgrade left turn and I went it the same way as the other turns on this road but the back end just lost traction and I went sideways into the turn-out heading towards the rock face. I thought it was my back end washing-out again since it's been doing that and I needed to do some adjusting again. I stop right before the wall. My friend following me checks the side of the car and throws a few rocks underneath my rear tire so I can get out of the small embankment I slid into. A little gas and a little thanks to AWD and get out and start again without even getting out of my car for a mile before I actually check out my car.
I've never seen gravel being wedge into the rim like that. We had to get a small pry bar and screwdriver to get it all out. After that, kept driving as usual. Nothing happened to the body, but my rims have seen better days. Better than hitting them on a curb.
