I just got my tracking number, and it looks like my turbo won't be here until Monday. So I won't be able to get it installed until the following weekend.
However, expect pictures and a review of the packaging on Monday.:thumb:

I got my turbo today.:D :rocks:
I am pleased with the prduct. It was packaged well. And from my experiences, the customer service is superb. I am going to submit a thread to the Product Reviews forum, so if that gets approved, expect to see it soon. I will be installing this turbo this weekend.
Here are a few pictures:

wow that is a great deal and for such a good street/strip turbo to. wow is all i have to say and when im in the market for a new turbo there going to get my business as well.

do they have the rebuild kits for the 14b? All i saw were part numbers and i have no idea what the number on the 14b is?

Is that just their basic t28 or did you upgrade to the 60 trim wheel big T28 ?
I purchased the upgraded 60 trim wheel. Also, I am sending them back my T-25 for the $100 rebate.

They do, its under TD05/TD05H/TD06 for $81. I have heard good things about their craftsmanship when rebuilting turbos.

For $81 they will send you the kit.
But you are going to have to get your turbo balanced anyways, so you might want to give them a call to check how much a rebuild is, and how long the usual turn around time is.

One more question. I know that T28 intake diameter inlets are supposed to measure about 1.9in. What does yours measure at ?
I don't know what you mean by intake so;
Where the intake attaches to the compressor housing is 2 inches, and where the exhaust enters on the exhaust side is about 2 1/16" but if you include the lip (unported) then its 1 3/4"

Got mine yesterday, installed today! Haven't boosted above like 6 yet, but it pulled way better than my tired old t25. :thumb:
Im gonna run a few hundred miles at low boost before I get on it... I'll report back with that when I do.

Heres a few pre install pics of a ported gPopshop bigT28:

..... I just noticed that mine only has 9 turbine fins. Yours has 10..... Did they send my a t-28 instead of a big t-28? or possibly a t-25? How do I tell the difference?

Alright, I just got off the phone with them. They said that the reason why I have 9 fins and eclipseitall has 10 fins is because they have 2 variations of the stage 3 turbine wheel, both being the same diameter. So the difference in fin count should make little to no difference.

Well don't get too excited for any real performance gains unless you've got the fuel mods to really use it. I can't hardly tell the difference from stock. It idles smother and boosts solid to 10psi where the old t25 would spike to 12 and fall off. I have a MBC to install, then maybe up the boost a bit. But I need some fuel mods now for sure, and cams are looking like a good investment too.

I am just waiting on a friend to come help me lower the turbo out of my car. I will most likely have a performance update later tonight or tomorrow.

P.S. PB blaster is my new best friend. So far I have not needed a breaker bar for anything. And that is saying something for being in Utah. Just PB blast everything for a week beforehand.

P.S.S. You can avoid draining the coolant by using wood clamps, c-clamps, or surgical forceps to clamp the water lines. You can also avoid draining any oil by only unbolting the top of the oil drain line and being carefull around it. This sure has made this process a lot easier than I would have imagined.

I finished up the install yesterday. I am very pleased with the result. The turbo feels alot better at 14 psi than my old t25 at 16psi. The turbo spools up very nicely and gives full boost at a little after 3k rpm and holds all the way to redline. It feels like it wants so much more than 14psi, when I get a logger from my friend, I will be increasing that number hopefully. I feel very satisfied and feel that I got my moneys worth.

Now, as to the longevity of this turbo, only time will tell. I will come back and provide updates every now and again.

I have a few questions/concerns about this turbo.

Has anyone else heard of this amazing stage 3 60 trim wheel stuffed ina T-25/28 housing and making 375HP?

Should the spool not closer resemble that of the T-25?

How could an extra fin or minus a fin, not have an impact on the performance or function of the turbo? Few people would create 2 different things that do exactly the same thing...there has to be a difference and a reason.

I mean, this is the ideal turbo if all seems true;
- T-25-like spool (untested)
- power equal to an EVOIII 16g (since no one usually makes more than 300hp on their evoiii's and when they do its not gonna be more than around 350hp)
- Good price
- No install kit

Why haven't we been doing this sooner? Assuming all is well and true.

To answer your questions.

The 375HP generated by the"60 trim wheel" is probably at the crank. I have not heard of anybody making 375whp off of a big t28.

The spool does resemble that of the t25 in the fact that it spools later than the t25 but sooner than the evo316g.

From what I havebeen told by Gpopshop is that the diameter of the turbine wheels is the same. The only difference is the number of fins. Garrett apparently makes 2 different variations of that size wheel. They told me that, through their experiences, they have seen no difference between the two.

T25 like spool: TRUE (I am testing it right now.)

Power equal to evo3 16g: FALSE. (Look at any compressor map and it will tell you that the evo3 16g turbo is a bigger turbo with more horepower output.)

Good price: TRUE (they are a couple hudred dollars than the usual FP big t28. Especially with the $100 refund for your old t25)

No Install Kit: TRUE. (I put it in yesterday. It was a direct bolt on.)

The reason why the T28 has been an uncommon turbo upgrade is because you could get a better turbo (evo3 16g) for the same or cheaper price.

Gpopshop just decided to beat everybodies prices and create a cost effective upgrade for 2g owners. Props to them.

EDIT: Taken exactly from gpopshops website: "Big T28 Compressor Wheel rated at 34lb/min or 340hp" I don't know where you got 375HP at.
The "60 trim" wheel is the compressor wheel that makes it a t28. The Stage 3 Turbine wheel is what makes it a Big t-28

Thanks for answering some of that for me.
It felt like this thread was indicating some new kind of FRankenstein T-28 that could produce 375hp. Something not done by any t-28 killer/big t-28.
