Ok. First time DSM owner.
I have a few questions.
My backround is a x race tire engineer for motorcycles. So I know Tire and Suspenion dynamics a little.

I have also come from the rear wheel drive world. So set ups are going to be differant between the two.

I just picked up a 99 gs, The guy before me had it was going backwards with it. I have almost set the car back to stock.
1st was a full tune up... Thank god for that. I didnt think it was ever done. 85k on the clocks.
2nd is the suspenion.
This car rides like a boat. shocks are toast and the springs are crap.
Shocks? stock
Springs? Some purple colored things.
Wheels? 2003 eclipes 17's with kumo tires.

I am thinking of pulling the crap springs and replacing them. But I need shocks too..
I did eyeball the AGX's shocks front and rear. I have used them before and have worked well in rear wheel drive apps. But the springs are questionable, So They need to go too.
For street and autocross. AGX's with a good spring rate? or should I just drop the cash for the Coilover set up?
I almost think coilovers are over kill.
I am going to replace the bushings too at the same time....
Swaybars? I have read up on a few. What has everyone been using and like?
Rear camber sucks as well. This car looks like a 911 almost........

So what is a good street set up that will work in autocross?
Should I get the AGX's Are they adjustable enough from front wheel drive?
What is a good spring? and Spring Rate?
I am not road racing so coilover are bling bling I think. Whats your thoughts?
Then swaybars..... most adjustment ? Who has adjustable links to set free hang?
Bushings are all the same, I am doing timing belt this weekend and tossing in the motor
mounts.

Then the $20 question.
In the DSM world Who do you trust buying parts from?

Thanks
Michael

Good info there thank you....

March 2001: The jury is still out on the "wider vs shorter" tire debate. About the only for-sure point in the wider tire's favour is that it kicks ass in braking

Rotational mass and unsprung weight ?

Looks like I might be out for some fun here!

RM Racing Sway Bars link is dead on that page.....

Any other working link?
