I am getting the following for my suspension set-up (bear in mind im usually in the performance section so if i sound like a newbie is cause i am to this section  )

Springs- I have heard good things from H & R Springs
Shocks- KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks
Brake Pads- dunno, greenstuff maybe
Brake Rotors- i just saw some brembo rotors, might pick those off for my car
Rims- 17" Rims (gunmetal)
Tires- 205 z-rated

Another question is i have a rs, disc front, drum back. I was wondering how do u change the drum, is there a performance drum or all they all the same?

Thanks

you can swap to rear disks very easily. Go to a junk yard and get the rear brake system from a gst or a gsx...theres a site somewhere on it, I'll try to look for it and edit it on. Or you could just type it into google

Thats true i prolyl will end up swappin the back to disks but what about the toehr stuff i have, does anyone have any info on it? Thanks

Shocks: KYB GR2 are stock replacements, probably ok for a N/T but if you had a GS-T or GSX I'd have recommended AGX, which is what I have on my Talon.

As far as Discs are concerned, I heard that cross-drilled rotors are unreliable and warp easily. Go for Slotted rotors, RRE sells PowerSlot branded rotors for a competitive price.

Good luck, and pass by our meetings every conce in a while... :)

DSMAddicted, any chance u or any one u kno wit a dsm n is in the miami area knows how to convert rear disc brakes let me kno cause i dont have many friends who r mechanically inclined, i have pizza and beer :thumb: LOL. My dad has a warehouse where he builds big ass machinery adn he has every tool known to man, the only thing he is missing is a lift so if u can find anyone or if u kno n like to help let me kno. my aim sn is mnf155, Thanks

I thought Cross Drilled Rotors were good, i have a summit performance mag n it has them in it, can u expand thanks. I have a n/t so im going y gr-2 shocks i researched the springs so im going with those.

Where r these meetings?

Mike

i'm running H&R sport springs on KYB GR2's and i love them. The GR2's are just fine. They are stiffer than stock and they handle the springs just fine. I'll probably switch to Illuminas eventually but i'm fine with my current setup. BTW the car handles awesome!

On the rotors...

Cross drilled rotors are said to be prone to cracking, the edges of the holes are stress risers unless they are radiused. Now some rotors do come with radiused holes but eventually you'll wear/machine away the radius and you'll be back to no radius. While this may be a problem for high performance cars driven on the track or AutoXed it most likely won't be an issue for a street driven car that sees only moderate braking.

Slotting solves the problem of the stress risers but they use up pads faster, so that's your call.

With either slotting or drilling you are reducing the mass of the rotor and with it the rotors heat capacity. If you look at any serious autocrosser and many race teams you'll see they're running good old solid rotors (by this I mean vented but not slotted of crossdrilled) some of the professional teams still run slotted/Xdrilled rotors but you can bet your ass they're checked for cracks before every race and replaced often.

Like I mentioned above, the stresses are really only high enough to cause problems under hard driving so if you just stay to the streets then you can get whatever looks best to you (personally I like the look of Xdrilled but I have plain factory rotors on my car)

That's my $0.02 and I reserve the right to be wrong. ;)
