Found a 95 tsi fwd for sale locally. Asking $2,500. 144k on the clock. No major body blemishes. Pretty good shape for a 95. Clutch slips when going through the gears hard. Other than that no other major mechanical problems. T-belt was changed 8 months ago. Its green original wheels, no mods. Overall good shape. Of course i'll try to talk him down but what do you think of this deal? Also comes with 3 10'' mtx subs and 2 amps

thanks guys

I guess thats true it is a little high kelly blue book said about $2,500 in good shape with minimal flaws, but if you can talk him down to $2,000 or lower becaue of the clutch it may be worth it. A new 2100LB ACT clutch kit is going to cost about $430 parts so I would bring that up to him.

I agree, try even lower than 2000, try 1800, just to see what he'll say, it cant hurt right??? Also, definately see if you can get him to let you do a compression test BEFORE you buy it, you dont want to spend the $$$ then find out it has a bad motor.

Why does the gst book $1k higher than the tsi?

Good question, most likely the manufacturers name on the vehicle, I would imagine that Mitsubishi's name is worth more than Eagle's, wouldnt you?

Considering they aren't making more of these vehicles and they are so much fun, I would go for it. Of course you want to get a better price than they are asking anyways.

It DOES sound like a good deal, although it is fwd. Not a bad daily driver I would presume. Hell if you can't talk him down call me! I sell cars for a living. I'll sell an icecube to an eskimo and a freezer to go with it!

To answer your question, no its not a good investment, not many cars other than superhigh end exotics are good investments. However it does seem like a fairly good deal, that is assuming you are confident that you can do the clutch by your self when it goes.

And its a 95, and you know what that means....EPROM!
