OK well i might be buying my neighbors 95 tsi for $400, but it doesn't run. He attempted a timing belt job and didn't have the dowel pins at 12*. Bent a valve and got it taken care of and took it to a shop. Well it was running fine for about 2 weeks. The car is completely stock with 70k miles. Until one day me and him went down the street to a friends house and it just wouldnt start. We checked everything, it all seemed fine, until the compression test. He had no compression in 3 of his cylinders. When he bent the valve he had the head off and replaced the head gasket, but when i asked him if he replaced the headstuds he said they should be ok to use again. Well the car had the headgasket replaced before the bent valve hence the felpro gasket, i dont think the headstuds where ever replaced. Is it possible that they streched and its not sealing?
The timing marks are fine, and i highly doubt that 3 piston rings went bad instantly.
