Its a 1991 talon fwd turbo 5 speed. The motor is stock except it has a rebuilt ecu, brand new aluminum turbo intake pipe, turbo access bov, cyclone manifold and the exhaust it chopped off right at the cat. The car will run fine with no cel or anything when cold but when it warms up it will die and will not run till its cooled down again. The seller said it didn't start doing this till they did the exhaust. im thinking it could be the fuel pump, coils, the ecu and that it has a non resirculating bov. please help Mike

Is it a stock ECU, or was it chipped/reprogrammed? I wonder if the ECU is just not returning the error code. Try disconnecting your O2 sensor and see if the cel is produced. If not, I would start asking questions about the history of the "new and improved" ECU.

Duke 901,

I'd suggest you make sure the CEL turns on when the key is inserted in the ignition (right before cranking it) in order to at least make sure it works, along with the other warning lights. Does he have any other stock pipes by any chance? (To replace the current status of the exhaust).

he dont have any other pipes for the exhaust. And he said everything else is fine, just that when it warms up it dies. then when it cools down enough it will run again. he also said that it is just a rebuilt ecu.

Recirculate that BOV. My buddy had a similar problem with his 93 laser when he first got it. Once he recirculated(well he switched his GM MAF from draw through to blow-thur) he and didnt have the problem anymore.

btw, I think you mean Turbo XS bov.

ya thats what i was thinking but the seller said it ran fine before and it just started doing this.
