hi i have a pair audiobahn AW1206T that i want to install in my car ( http://www.cardomain.com/item/ABNAW1206T ) and now im looking for a amp. right now i only want one amp. that can push around 400 rms to each sub. so i was thinking of getting this VOLFENHAG amp. ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18796&item=5725481863&rd=1 ) the main reason is cause of the price. as im kind of low on cash right now. i just wanted to know what u guys thought of this brand? i was told it was good but im not sure.

first of all... You cannot...cannot judge any speaker on name or power rating. YOu have to actually hear it. Specs are one thing on paper, but its another thing to make a practical application. I dont have the specs on your speakers, but I'm assuming since you said they're rated at 400 watts RMS...which is pretty huge, you're going to need a good amp. ebay is not going to do it for you unless you've heard that exact setup before or can find performance graphs with how that speaker performed on different platforms based on the different RMS rating of the amps used.

Ok, so all that said. I'm jsut going to assume you did your research. JL audio is notorious for actually putting down the continous wattage that they say they will. So if a JL audio amp says it will run 500 watts continous than it will. From what I understand, rockford fosgate is the same way. I cannot vouch for any other amp, although there are some out there that will do it.

so all that said. it sounds like you need 400 watts rms to each cahnnel. so buy a JL or rockford fosgate two channel amp that's rated at 800 watts continous. best thing to do..is head down to your local Good guys etc...and find the amp that you want and listen to it and make sure it will power speakers of the rating you're looking for

my subs r not 400 rms. there 1100 rms each. but for now im only going to be running them at 400 rms each. and i did hear them there hella Loud. my friend has one of them connected to a 450 watt rms amp and that shit is MAD loud. he blows most of the cars around here out. and thats just one. i got 2. thats the reason i got them cause of how loud my friends setup is. also jl amps are kind of to much $$. but ill check the other one u said ou. ty for ur help

JL or Rockford would definitely be your best bet, but why not just pick up an Audiobahn amp to power them. Their amplifiers are more than likely designed around their subwoofer lines. You can probably find one of them on e-bay cheap. You'll have to either wire them in a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load, and I don't think there are many good quality amplifiers that can give you high power at a one ohm load (without paying mucho denaro).

those audiobahn subs will kick ass and look good while doing it. i have the "base model" 12's in my car now, and they are insanely good for the price(100 for 2 off ebay). i also have the 1300HCT audiobahn amp powering them and its a great setup that cost me about 350 total. im a sucker for chrome.

and i dont know about that volfenhag or whatever amp, looks very generic but you never know. pick it up and do a test and see how it is, might be a good amp.

it seems everyone in this world are into JL and rockford. its funny how all the car shows and db comps i have been to those subs were not around.

the reason those subs and amps are not in competitions is that the people that do those shows can afford to spend more money on stuff. We're just trying to give our man an idea on something that might be in his price line.

also, what the other dude said about looking at the audiobahn amp designed for those subs is a good idea...oh ps.. I extremely doubt your subs are 1100 watts RMS each unless you paid over a grand for them.

cancel that. I just looked on their acutal website and they appear to be rated at 1100 RMS...but there's something really sketchy about taht number, especially for the price that they're charging. like I said...you can't judge a speaker on supposed specs. It means nothing. It also doesn't matter how loud it is if it can't put out clean very tight bass. There's more to sound than rattling your windows.
good luck with all the shopping though. I think 400 RMS from a good amp will be plenty.
